Friday Five

In an effort to start blogging more, I'm taking after one of my favorite authors Sarah Dessen and posting a Friday five. That way I'll at least be committed to writing at the very least every Friday.

1. This week has been awful. It's been half days so I've been working full time and it's been miserable. By the end of the day on Wednesday I was so hungry and tired that I almost didn't stay awake for Lost. This speaks volumes if you know me in real life.

2. Today for the first time ever, I had enough money in my pay-pal account from sales that I didn't have to spend any of my own money to buy supplies. I could definitely get used to this.

3. This weekend I have 0 plans. My own plan is to not get out of my pajamas and not stress out about anything. I'll of course have free shipping on all sales made on Saturday but I'm not going to worry about getting them to the post office until Monday morning. I'm going to use this weekend to regroup and recover.

4. I bought an awesome set of flatback embellishments that were all Summer food and I'm so in love with it. My hot dog earrings already sold and this is the first time I'm kind of sad to part with an item. Summer foods are for sure my favorite kinds of foods because they are pretty close to Carnival/Fair food and you really can't beat that.

5. I'm starting to look for a real job. I'm graduating from college in June and I really want something that will utilize my degree a little more. For the first time ever, the issues with the economy are hitting close to home (I know this may sound ignorant but it's one of the perks of still living at home). I feel guilty for wanting a new job when I should just be thankful that I have a job in the first place. But still, I feel like it's time for me to move on to bigger and better things.

Ok because #5 was such a downer, I'll give you a freebie.

6. I am addicted to The Office. Last night they replayed the episode where Toby comes back from his trip and Michael was freaking out and I was literally laughing out loud. If you are one of the few people out there that still don't watch it (it seems like once I jumped aboard the office train I realized that everyone around already had), I highly recommend it.

Have a good weekend everyone :)

Monday Morning.

Monday mornings suck. Let's just get that out of the way. No matter what you are getting up to do, the transition from having a relaxing awesome weekend to getting up and being first thing in the morning and being responsible is no fun.

This morning I'm up early to clean up the house before my parents come home, make funfetti cupcakes (my speciality) for a friend's birthday and get to work at 11:30.

No fun.

What would I rather be doing? Sitting in my pajamas playing on etsy of course.

I'm working full time for the next couple weeks, (7 hours instead of my usual 4). That's making getting up in the morning even harder. I just tell myself think of all the cool crafting supplies I can buy with bigger paychecks.

Have a good day everyone :)

First day of Spring

Last weekend (March 15th to be exact) we woke up to 3 inches of snow. It was awesome.

My parents are gone for the weekend so my sister and I have been doing outrageouly wild things, like go to the outback steakhouse... lol

We ate the most delicious food in the world, a bloomin' onion:

And we baked chocolate fudge cupcakes:

And a 9 layer yellow cake with chocolate frosting:

That's all :)

One Sick Puppy

My beloved Bono dog is really sick. Everyone in my house has had some sort of flu within the past week and on Monday morning when I was getting ready for school I noticed he was wheezing.

Bono is a shih-tzu and they are known to have quite a few nose and breathing problems so we just kind of shrugged it off and decided to not get alarmed just yet.

By Wednesday things still didn't get better and now he was just laying around and not eating much of anything. We took him into the vet. I don't like talking bad about people because I like to be optimistic and hope that maybe she was just having a bad day but her bedside manner was horrific. Not just to him but to us. She not-so gently told us that it's either pneumonia (which is treatale with pills and rest) or heart disease (which is um, not treatable). In order to diagnosis it, he woud need over $600 in tests.

She gave us an antibiotic to try and if he didn't get better it was heart disease.

We decided to get a 2nd opinion, I mean he's only 2 and barely goes outside, we buy him special food so he eats well and he's not overweight. There is no reason why he would be knocking on death's door.

The 2nd vet was wonderful. She told us that although heart disease was a possible given that his heart is a little rounder shaped then most dogs, there was just as much of a chancce of it being pneumonia and he would recover.

They gave him 2 new antibiotics, a pill that will open up his air way and a dieretic that will move some of the fluid in his lungs out. We also paid to have a second set of x-rays sent to a radiologist that way we will know for sure what it is.

Keep him in your thoughts <3

On a lighter note, to take my mind of things a little I'm having a Saturday only sale (Free shipping on EVERYTHING!). I'm also working hard to get my samples ready to be featured in the March little black box.

Have a good weekend,
Whitney and her sick Bono dog.

Room Tour

Last week I treated myself to an amazingly awesome new digital camera. What really sold me on it was the ability to take panoramic pictures. Considering that I have no plans to go anywhere that will be panoramic picture worthy, I've decided to put this feature to use and photograph my bedroom.

First Craft related injury

Yesterday after my biology class I came home to find that my business cards had arrived (they are awesome by the way). I was so excited to open the package that somehow my index fingernail on my right hand got snagged on the packing tape and ripped half of my finger nail right off.

Needless to say it hurts really bad and there may or may not have been tears at the time.

I have it all wrapped up now but it's making life a little difficult considering that I'm right handed and have to type up a ten page paper.

On a lighter note, I am now up to 7 sales!

Here's some of the new things I've got going on...

Itty Bitty Black Bats! I love them. I know it's way to early for Halloween things but still, how can you resist?

Dark Purple starfish! I'm thinking about making a category called under the sea because I'm liking these so much. I also have some seashells :)

Aren't these pretty little orange flowers? I don't know what kind they are though. My hands look scaley but I promise it's just glue. That is my left hand so you cannot see my half a finger nail injury.
